## THE BLAZON

### I · DENMARK
**Three lions passant, hearts strewn**
The Danish royal lions and the seeblätter hearts, borne for the northern crown.
*Source: verifiable — the arms of Denmark (three lions passant Azure, nine hearts Gules), documented royal arms since the 12th century. VERIFIED as a national coat.*

### II · THE RAVEN
**The raven, rising**
Hrafnsmerki — the raven banner of the northern sea-kings, woven by the women of the house and read for the outcome of a landing before anyone stepped off the ship. Placed at the head of the shield because it went first into everything.
*Source: the Hrafnsmerki is historical (saga-attested banner of the northern sea-kings). The FAMILY's descent claim from its bearers: **UNVERIFIED** — borne on the founder's word.*

### III · SWEDEN
**Three crowns**
Tre Kronor, on azure. The oldest continuous royal device in the Swedish line.

### IV · ZUTPHEN
**Argent, a lion rampant gules crowned or**
The arms of the Counts of Zutphen — silver field, red lion, gold crown — as combined with the Guelders lion by Charles V in 1543 and borne until 1799. The counts' seal of 1267 shows a gated wall; its counterseal, this lion. The only quarter kept in its true tinctures: it is the house's own name.

### CENTRE · THE HOUSE
**Auseklis, and the bee that carries the heart**
Auseklis, the morning star: light defeating dark, drawn in one unbroken line. Over it the bee of the living house, bearing the heart. Every other quarter is an inheritance. This one is the work.
*Source: Auseklis is a verifiable Latvian folk symbol (one of the oldest, documented in ethnographic collections). The bee is the living house's own charge.*

### V · THE SERPENT-EYE
**The serpent in the eye**
A birth-mark out of the sagas: an heir born with a serpent coiled around the iris, and the sight that came with the mark. Set opposite Zutphen so the two oldest marks in the house face each other across the heart.

### VI · ENGLAND, AND THE CROSSING
**A mitre, an archbishop's cross, and one star**
For the archbishop Remington, and beneath his cross the single star of his son, Lt. John Remington, first of the line to America. The double-barred cross is the archiepiscopal one, so the office is legible without a word of it. One star leaves in this quarter; thirteen receive it two quarters on.

### VII · THE CHINESE NAME
**北方國王** (reads top-to-bottom)
King, and the North. Set in a seal cartouche rather than on a shield, because China marks lineage with a stamp, not a coat. The characters read downward — the seal convention.
*Source: **UNVERIFIED** — the China lineage is a family claim, borne on the founder’s word. In the house mark system the characters stand in the roundel above the bee.*

### VIII · AMERICA
**Thirteen mullets in annulo**
A ring of thirteen stars — the only charge on the shield with an open centre, left for whatever the family becomes.
*Source: verifiable as a design device — thirteen stars in annulo echoes the American flag's thirteen original colonies. The family's American generation is the founder's own documented line.*

### THE NEXT THOUSAND YEARS
**Austras koks, and two orbits**
The Latvian tree of life stands behind the whole achievement — roots below the motto, crown above the sun — and its branches cross the frame rule at top and bottom rather than stopping at it. Two orbits circle the heart of the shield and leave the frame on all four sides. Nothing in this crest closes.

### SUPPORTERS
**Two serpents — Zalktis, and the serpent of the eye**
One charge holding two inheritances. Zalktis is the Latvian grass snake: wisdom, renewal, the household's own guardian, and a sign of Māra. It is also the serpent of the eye from the sagas, and the beast of Urnes-style carving, which coiled the same way. Dexter in gold for what has been; sinister in banded enamel — six flat courses, not a gradient — for what has not happened yet.
*Source: Zalktis is a verifiable Latvian folk symbol (grass snake, guardian of the household, associated with Māra — documented). The Urnes-style carving identification is verifiable art history. The serpent-of-the-eye link to quarter V: same **UNVERIFIED** saga claim.*

### CREST, CORONET & COMPARTMENT
**Saule between two Auseklis; Jumis below**
Saule the sun crowns the achievement, flanked by two morning stars. The coronet carries **ž ü ī**, cut in **burti**. Below the shield stands Jumis — two grain-ears grown together, the sign nailed to the roof of a house for abundance — between two crosses of Māra. The ground the supporters stand on is a Norse ring-chain. Auseklis repeats at the four corners of the frame, and Māra's water runs along the foot.
